It is safe to say that 2009 turned out to be as surprisingly good as 2008 turned out to be surprisingly bad. Getting our clients through the market turmoil–and surviving it ourselves–was our main focus at the start of the year. It has also been a game changer in the financial services world, as the media has reported daily about the collective loss of confidence by the public in financial institutions. But the experience at TCI has been different; most clients have recovered almost all of their losses from 2008. The sensible, disciplined approach that TCI advisors utilize should serve clients well again in 2010 no matter what kind of economy, market and socio-political environment we face.
